Final Cut or Avid to Premiere Pro Conversion Course

premiere proThis one-day course is specifically for editors who have proficiency in either Final Cut Pro (FCP) or Avid who want to add the Premiere Pro string to their bow as quickly and painlessly as possible.  Yes, you could teach yourself, but it will be easier to make the transition in one go - and cheaper when you factor in the time spent trying to find all the equivalent shortcuts!

Doing a structured course will also sharpen up your skills as an editor on all the platforms that you use.

The BBC has moved to Adobe Premiere Pro and many other companies are moving away from FCP due to uncertainty about Apple's commitment to the professional video market in the future.  How will it play out?  Will Avid make a comeback?  Will the world bend to Apple's will?  We don't know, but we do know that you will probably miss out on work if you can't drive Premiere Pro.

The course covers everything you need to master Premiere Pro, including:

  • Getting your head around Premiere's interface
  • Common problems for switchers
  • How to set up Premiere to feel more like FCP or Avid
  • Things Premiere Pro does well
  • The Adobe workflow

Requirements

Experience of a professional editing package, eg FCP 7, FCP X or Avid.

"I would recommend Bristol Film Academy, definitely. I got way more from the course than I expected."
